With less than 3 weeks to go until the wedding, I decided to start another DIY project.
Yes, I realize this is insane.
I’m making fabric squares to go under the centerpiece arrangements. Plain squares just seemed so boring, so I thought, why not hand embroider all 16 squares? It only takes like two hours a square!
This may or may not work out.

The photobooth is underway. We still need to cut a hole for the frame, but first it needed some gussying up.

My Aunt Jill, who built and painted the adorable faux wall, suggested glue gunning some fake flowers to the frame and then spraying painting them gold. Honestly, I was not entirely convinced that this would work out. It just seemed like it would look so cheesy!

In the end, however, I LOVE the results. It looks like a real fancy, gaudy frame!

Now I kind of want to hot glue flowers to everything in my house…

Another project: Framed chalkboards!

We’ll use these to label the food options, list the drink menu at the bar and who knows what else.

Spray painting is very satisfying!

The wedding crafting has begun in earnest!

One of the first things I knew I wanted to do for the wedding was make these enamel painted vases. You can find Martha Stewart’s instructions here. I first did this project a couple years ago and I absolutely loved the results. It makes plain, cheap, glass bottles look almost like milk glass!

There are A LOT more vases to go. We’ll be doing about 120 total. Insane!

How cute would it be to include these tickets with the invitations?!

Curly straws!
Fun idea in the middle of this otherwise so-not-me photo shoot on Style Me Pretty.

An advanced take on the standard DIY photobooth from Ruffled.
Pretty clever and adorable, if you ask me!

Oh, look! It’s those same Martha Stewart tissue paper flowers made into napkin rings!
Yup, yup. I don’t have anything to do until four today. I think I’ll kick back and make a billion of these.

Also went out and harvested some curly willow branches from the tree in the backyard.
I took this photo right before Arthur knocked the whole thing off the mantel, breaking many of the branches.
Oh well! There’s more where those came from!

My wool beads arrived!
I’m excited to play around with these. I’ll be needing glue gun access STAT.
They are a bit more blue than purple, though… oh well, we’ll see how they work out.

I attended a little wedding crafting get together the other night (turns out I know a lot of brides-to-be) and tried out making paper flowers. Easy and cute! Not sure exactly what to do with them, but I have some ideas.
It was really fun to discuss all of our ideas and plans! We’re going to have more of these little parties down the line. Next time I hope to accomplish more then just making three flowers and drinking many glasses of wine.

What if I had all paper flowers at the wedding?
I don’t think I mean that.
These look fun to make, though.

Love these flowered paper mache letters.  Inexpensive and classy!  Great for a wedding, party or home decor.

Very cute idea.

Today I ordered 500 felted beads from Woolly Fabulous on Etsy in various shades of purple and off-white.
I’m only about 60% sure that the project I have planned for these will work out.
