Our photographer posted our wedding pictures on her blog. It’s been so fun to look through all the beautiful pictures! It really was a perfect day.
Now that the wedding’s over, I won’t be maintaining this blog much anymore. I still plan on updating with some more photos and a few other things, but for the most part my wedding blogging days are behind me.
BUT DON’T WORRY! (I know you were worried) I’VE STARTED ANOTHER BLOG!
Our Little Place is my new blog for sharing craft projects and home decorating type stuff. Come follow if you’re interested!
The photobooth my Aunt Jill built was a ton of fun! Nearly everyone took a couple pictures. They’re basically 100% hilarious and awesome.
We had a really nice little trip down the southern Oregon coast and over to Ashland. The weather could not have been more perfect. It was really fun and relaxing and pretty much the ideal way to wind down from the craziness of the wedding.
One thing I planned for the wedding that I did not talk about on the ol’ blog was my VERY SPECIAL, EXTRA SECRET performance of Salt ‘N’ Pepa’s Whatta Man.
I had the idea to do this before Jeff even proposed to me. I was driving one day and this song came on the radio and I thought, it would be hilarious to perform this at our wedding if we ever get married. Of course a few lyrics would need to be changed- it was a family audience after all! And I would need to find someone to sing the chorus because I am not at all capable of hitting those notes.
I ended up asking my friend Morgan to back me up. I gave the heads up to the MC before the wedding and loaded my Whatta Man karaoke track (which I considerably shortened.. the original is 5 minutes long and has four verses! I didn’t want to be stuck on stage forever!) onto the playlist the morning of the wedding. Around 9pm the MC announced that our friends Morgan and Heather had a special performance for us and that Jeff and I needed to come up front.
Jeff was pretty mortified. We stood there through the first chorus and then I said, “I’m sorry, I have to do something” and.. I grabbed the mic!
It went soooooo well! People laughed at the parts I hoped they’d laugh at and “woooo!” at the parts I hoped they’d “woooo!” at! In the end Jeff said that it was one of his favorite parts of the wedding. I’m so glad I did it!
This video catches just the end of the first chorus through the end of the song. You just to see my dorky dancing, too!
Here are the full lyrics, as I adjusted them:
I wanna take a minute or two
to give much respect due
To the man whose made a difference in my world.
Although most men are rude
He’s not your average dude
And that’s why I always feel like such a lucky girl!
And I don’t sweat it,
he’s just so magnetic, athletic
How can I doubt that he’s the one for me?
I know that he’s just perfect!
I give props to those who deserve it and believe me, y’all he’s worth it!
So he’s to the future cuz we got through the past
I finally found somebody who could make me laugh
Ha ha ha… you so crazy!
I think I wanna have your baby!
My man is cool like Clooney and a B-ball ace
A body like Arnold and a Denzel face
He’s smart like a lawyer with a real good rep
And when he comes home, he relaxes with our cat!
He’s always got a kiss for me every time I see him.
A lot of snot-nosed ex-flames couldn’t be him!
He likes to cook me dinner, it’s always so delish,
and when the dinner’s over, yo, he washes every dish!
He’s got me on cloud nine all of the time
He’s not a fake wanna-be, tryin’ to bust a rhyme
He dresses like a Dapper Dan but even in jeans
He’s the god-sent Original, the man of my dreams!
Our photographer, Lisa Teso, posted a preview of our wedding! I am SO thrilled with the pictures!!! Check them all out here.
Jeff and I got back from our little honeymoon this evening. It was absolutely wonderful! I’m going to chill out with the cat now, but I’ll be posting more pictures and details on how everything went in the next couple days. For now I’ll just say, everything was perfect and beautiful and so, so much fun. I really couldn’t imagine it being any more wonderful.
As the blog says…
Let’s do this wedding thing!

Thank you so much! It’s so great to know that people have enjoyed reading this. I’ve really enjoyed writing it!
Oh, and there will be pictures. Believe you me!
Now to watch Clueless with my bridesmaids until I konk out.
We found a cute little frog in the parking lot of the U Pick farm.
This is good omen #2 (#1 being my Steve Buscemi sighting).
Day before the wedding!
Headed to the U Pick Farm to get flowers. Then it’s mani-pedis with the ladies. Then it’s rehearsal time!
To do list:
- Meet Jeff for lunch and get the marriage license!
- Pick up Jeff’s ring.
- Pick up shoes that are on hold for me at Macy’s.
- Drop off the final layout plan at the club.
- Come home and finally finish the playlist!
My, what a wedding-y day!
